JERUSALEM, Feb. 2 (Xinhua) -- Former Chinese Super League (CSL) striker Emmanuel Boateng has joined Hapoel Tel Aviv on a one-and-a-half-year contract, the Israeli Premier League club said on Sunday.
The 29-year-old arrives at Hapoel Tel Aviv with extensive experience across Europe and Asia, and also has six caps and one goal for Ghana's national team.
Boateng began his professional career in Portugal with Rio Ave and Moreirense before moving to La Liga side Levante in 2017.
In February 2019, Boateng signed for CSL side Dalian Professional, before returning to Rio Ave in 2022 and later playing for Al-Orobah in Saudi Arabia and Gaziantep F.K. in Turkiye, where he began the current season.
Hapoel Tel Aviv has won 13 national league titles but has endured challenges in recent years. Under new ownership by billionaire Edmond Safra, the club has made a strong return to the top flight and currently sits third in the Premier League standings. ■
