LONDON, Dec. 31 (Xinhua) -- British stocks decreased on Monday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index down by 0.09 percent, or 5.84 points, to close at 6,728.13 points.

Rentokil Initial, a business service company, soared 3.12 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. Ocado and InterContinental Hotels Group increased by 2.86 percent and 2.24 percent, respectively.
